category manager m&s
about this role
this position manages procurement activities for relevant categories/sub-categories within the m&s (marketing and sales) cluster, following global strategies and alternatives as needed.
responsibilities
category management strategy
responsible for procurement of assigned sub-categories, implementing strategies set by the cluster category manager, collaborating with partners, and supporting local procurement planning. Works closely with the cluster category manager to provide insights during global strategy development and manages the supplier list efficiently. Participates in financial planning, identifies local suppliers, negotiates contracts, and ensures supply security and effective supplier relationships. Leads projects that benefit procurement and business functions, manages srm with key suppliers, and promotes sustainable strategies with local suppliers.
critical metrics & targets
achieves procurement targets, develops sourcing plans, supports bidding processes, and monitors performance. Implements strategy locally, ensures compliance with digital sourcing tools, and drives cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
business partnership
builds strong relationships with business partners, aligns strategies, and ensures effective communication among procurement, business, and suppliers. Acts as a gip ambassador, supporting global initiatives, sharing market intelligence, and conducting risk assessments to secure optimal conditions for jti.
qualifications & requirements
* university degree in finance, supply chain, procurement, or related fields.
* minimum 5 years of experience in a similar environment within a multinational company.
* proficiency in spanish and english (b2 level); portuguese is a plus.
* strong strategic, financial, negotiation, and communication skills.
* leadership and project management abilities.
* proficiency in ms office and sap.
