general job description
under general guidance, the employee will:
1. provide efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages.
2. check packages to ensure proper labeling, content legality, weight and size compliance, proper wrapping, insurance values, and adherence to regulations for hazardous materials.
3. prepare necessary paperwork related to pickup and delivery, such as airway bills, delivery records, and vehicle condition reports, with neatness and accuracy.
4. seek additional business from current customers; if unsuccessful, pass leads to the sales manager.
5. inform station operations manager and sales of changes in customer or competitor activities.
6. load company vehicles safely.
7. audit the size and weight of packages and boxes, and sort accordingly.
8. use safety equipment and comply with fedex safety policies, procedures, norms, rules, and practices.
9. operate company vehicles safely, perform basic maintenance such as cleaning, washing, and checking tire pressure.
10. support unloading customer merchandise, validating quality and quantity, and palletizing when needed.
11. arrange products on racks, using forklifts or skids (note: forklift operation requires certification).
12. fulfill physical orders using work tools like handheld scanners, pcs, and wms or excel software.
13. perform value-added tasks such as product review, kit assembly, labeling, and packaging.
14. perform other duties as assigned.
minimum requirements
education: middle school degree or equivalent preferred; basic english skills required.
experience: general knowledge of warehouse operations, packaging, and inventories; experience with ramp and warehouse equipment preferred.
skills: ability to lift up to 55 lbs. (25 kg) and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kg) with appropriate equipment; ability to work variable shifts; basic vehicle maintenance skills and experience with power and hand tools preferred; successful completion of reading, map reading, sorting, and math sections of the basic skills test; attention to detail, planning, organizing, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
