Job description: • perform administrative activitiessuch as project/user creation, roles management, import and exportprojects, database configuration setup, dataset management.
• planand oversee the technical transitions between development, testing,and production phases.
• facilitate change control, problemmanagement, and communication among data architects, programmers,system analysts, and functional users .
• monitor the platform andrespond immediately to component failures and ensure 24/7 systemavailability; • work with other database and unix administrators toresolve any open issues.
• work with vendor to co-ordinate patchinstallations, upgrades, and iis support packages • co-ordinatebackup and restore activities for the platform.
• troubleshootdevelopment issues and provide constructive solution.
• contributeto iis datastage standards, policies and procedures.
• knowledge inreal-time stages such as mq, xml, java, web components • knowledgein business glossary, metadata workbench, and information analyzerhelpful is great but not mandatory.
• unix scripting knowledgerequired • strong communication skills • has thorough understandingof technical concepts required for specialized field and encouragesand supports others to perform their jobs more effectively (e.g.,provides advice, tools and/or resources) • engage in performanceand optimization of datastage applications at a job level.
