Supports production, chem lab, and water treatment processes. Ensures lab equipment is functional and maintains records of tests completed. Performs activities for well control of the plating process. Develops new analytical procedures for new chemistries. Maintains appropriate inventory levels of lab reagents and chemicals for the plating process. Writes production and lab procedures and job instructions.
responsibilities include:
1. ensuring plating bath concentrations are within specifications for production.
2. maintaining the manufacturing job instructions (mjis) for the engineering function.
3. using chem lab equipment and instrumentation for analysis.
4. performing chemical testing for plating solutions.
5. maintaining accurate records of testing processes.
6. preparing laboratory reagents as needed.
7. performing solvent resistance, adhesion, and related tests.
8. supporting other activities as assigned.
9. upholding high ethical standards, even under pressure.
10. ensuring chemical data and items are compliant.
11. quoting chemical items according to plating requirements.
12. collaborating with suppliers to meet plating demands.
13. scheduling and recording preventive maintenance for the plating line.
14. tracking lab metrics and driving process improvements.
15. working directly with operators to evaluate tools, procedures, and new processes.
16. providing technical support across the company.
17. contributing to product line objectives related to cost, scrap, efficiency, and fpy.
18. performing other duties as required.
qualifications:
1. engineering degree (chemical/industrial).
2. over 3 years' experience in a plating and painting laboratory environment preferred.
3. basic knowledge of nadcap certification.
4. self-motivated with maturity, responsibility, and analytical skills.
5. excellent communication, integrity, and organizational skills.
6. proficient in microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, and outlook.
7. familiar with business math, internet, calculator, copier, telephone.
8. ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
9. strong interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
10. knowledge of variance analysis and design of experiments (doe).
