as biw process engineers, you will join a growing division of segula. This offers significant potential for personal growth within a consultancy that works with multiple clients and sectors. You will be responsible for the development, introduction, and launch of all new or modified processes and facilities related to new vehicle model introductions and model year changes within the bodyshop assembly facility.
job description
1. utilize your knowledge to plan, develop, and implement biw assembly processes and facilities to meet safety, quality, timing, and cost objectives.
2. provide feasibility assessments for product development designs to ensure they align with manufacturing requirements.
3. ensure robust process quality planning, including virtual build simulations and pfmea analysis.
4. support physical builds at workshops, pilot builds, and manufacturing plant locations, managing issues as they arise.
5. evaluate the suitability of manufacturing technologies for various applications, including joining technologies, transfer systems, and logistics.
6. prepare, issue, and evaluate supplier requests for quotations.
7. verify assembly processes and equipment at suppliers and the manufacturing facility.
8. support problem-solving on complex issues to achieve kpis.
9. assist in management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans.
10. ensure compliance with company and departmental policies and processes.
11. manage technical issues, providing guidance and escalating as necessary.
12. achieve equipment capability targets for all new and modified facilities.
qualifications
* engineering qualification (nvq level 3 or above, preferably in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or mech/elec combined) and/or relevant engineering experience in biw manufacturing.
* experience in delivering and launching biw assembly line facilities.
* strong problem-solving skills and experience investigating quality issues, manual station cycles, and stakeholder management.
* project management experience in delivering new or modified equipment into a production setting.
* ability to work within cross-functional teams and take ownership of tasks to deliver results.
* effective planning and prioritization skills to meet objectives.
additional information
you will start your role remotely from mexico and will eventually relocate to the uk on-site.
* 12 months+ contract (fixed term or iir35)
* location: birmingham
