Deputy director (dd)
position summary:
reporting directly to the general director (gd), the dd provides executive, administrative, and development support to the gd, school board, senior leadership team (slt), and administration. The dd serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters of the gd. The main role is to report on current structure, operation, and climate, and ensure leadership teams and staff adhere to established policies, processes, and procedures, while addressing concerns raised by parents, students, and staff.
essential/primary responsibilities:
executive support
* assist the gd with daily administrative duties, managing appointments, preparing reports, correspondence, and meeting documents.
* coordinate communication and logistics for high-level meetings internally and externally, including with the slt and teaching staff.
* represent the gd in communications with board members, donors, foundation staff, and others regarding program initiatives.
* support the gd in external commitments, such as service on boards and committees.
* monitor and report on the implementation of policies, processes, and procedures.
* respond to stakeholder concerns through investigation and evidence gathering.
* assist staff by analyzing needs related to time, space, and resources, acting as liaison between staff, the gd, and school administrator.
qualifications:
* teaching credential/license
* master's degree in education or related field
* teaching certification or license in mexico or country of origin
* leadership experience (e.g., principal, vice principal, head of school)
* knowledge of international baccalaureate teaching approaches, curriculum, and assessment
* strong communication and interpersonal skills
* enthusiasm for working with students and supporting their academic growth
* ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
* professional fluency in english or spanish (written and spoken)
* conversational fluency in a second language
* experience in multicultural settings
