about the role
scientific reviews will be a multidisciplinary nature portfolio journal specializing in review articles across the natural sciences, psychology, medicine, and engineering. It is online, open access, and aims to publish insightful reviews without barriers to access. Supported by an editorial board, manuscripts undergo rigorous peer‑review to ensure scientific accuracy and meaningful contribution to the field.
As an associate or senior editor, you will support the chief editor of scientific reviews in managing the editorial board and editorial decision‑making processes across the journal. Your responsibilities will include making editorial decisions, managing peer review for specific manuscripts, and expanding the journal’s reach through conference attendance and outreach initiatives. Key performance indicators include rapid publication, sound peer‑review practices, and high levels of service to authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.
Responsibilities
assist in daily management of the journal workflow, acting as handling editor on manuscripts and providing rapid, constructive decisions on peer review and publication.
Contribute to content development by working with the editorial board on commissioning and publishing subject‑specific collections.
Establish and maintain relationships with editorial board members (ebms); support recruitment and training of new ebms when required.
Resolve pre‑ and post‑publication issues raised by staff, ebms, and readers promptly (e.g., authorship, scope, ethics, consent, misconduct).
Engage in community outreach to ebms and potential authors, including participation at international and national conferences, editorial board meetings, and lab visits as required.
Contribute to policy development initiatives and implement editorial policy.
Experience, skills & qualifications
phd‑level research experience
thorough understanding of the scientific research community and its needs
strong interpersonal and communication skills
sound knowledge of and interest in science in general

strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
excellent workload management and organisational skills
