role overview / general description
we are seeking an experienced sap technical applications senior manager to serve as the technical workstream lead for the us delivery pool within our global delivery center in mexico.
this role combines technical solution leadership, delivery governance, and people leadership. The selected candidate will work closely with global stakeholders, provide architectural oversight across sap engagements, and lead a mid-sized team of sap technical consultants (30+).
the role requires strong expertise in modern sap technologies, s/4hana programs, sap btp, and abap cloud, along with proven leadership and delivery experience.
key responsibilities
1. Solution & delivery leadership
* lead and govern sap technical solution delivery across multiple engagements including greenfield, brownfield, rollouts, and ams programs
* provide solution assurance through blueprint validation, design reviews, and deployment quality gates
* oversee end-to-end ricefw object delivery across all development types
* define and review cutover strategies and release plans
* act as the technical escalation lead for complex design, integration, or cross-application challenges
* establish development standards and drive modernization initiatives
2. Technical leadership & architecture
* provide architectural guidance across sap technical landscapes
* drive adoption of modern sap development paradigms, including:
* abap on hana
* abap cloud
* restful abap programming model (rap)
* cds views & vdm architecture
* sap fiori / sapui5
* odata services
* sap business technology platform (btp)
* ensure adherence to best practices, scalability, and performance standards
3. People management – technical consulting team
* lead, manage, and grow a team of 30+ sap technical consultants
* oversee:
* performance management
* workforce planning & staffing
* mentoring & coaching
* skill development & certifications
* succession planning
* build a high-performance culture through training, upskilling, and cross-skilling initiatives
* collaborate with us capability and project leads for delivery alignment
4. Pre-sales & business development support
* support s/4hana transformation pursuits
* contribute to:
* solutioning & technical approach
* effort estimation
* staffing models
* delivery strategies
required experience & qualifications
* 12–14+ years of sap technical experience
* minimum 4+ full lifecycle s/4hana implementations
* proven experience leading mid-sized to large sap teams (15–30+ consultants)
deep expertise in:
* abap on hana
* abap cloud
* rap (restful abap programming model)
* cds views & vdm architecture
* ricefw objects
expert-level proficiency in:
* sap fiori
* sapui5
* odata services
strong working knowledge of:
* sap business technology platform (btp)
* cap (cloud application programming model)
* sap build apps
* sap ai services
* demonstrated ability to provide architectural governance and modernization leadership
required certification
