Job title: inventory operations manager
the primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the inventory management process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This involves establishing and maintaining procedures for receiving, storing, picking, and shipping products.
the ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional departments. Proficiency in ms office, particularly excel, is essential for data analysis and reporting.
responsibilities:
1. manage daily cycle counts and location audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
2. coordinate yearly physical inventories, which may require weekend work.
3. analyze and research variances outside acceptable tolerances, determining root causes and performing necessary transactions to reconcile errors.
4. prepare weekly cycle count and location audit variance reports, summarizing resolved issues and transactions made to correct them.
5. assist material handling with cycle counts and location audits as needed.
6. train and develop warehouse team members on inventory control processes.
7. collaborate with accounts payable to reconcile vendor receipt discrepancies.
8. perform bpao (branch plant area organization) audits for production lines and subassembly areas.
9. coordinate line replenishment processes, including kanban, min-max, and mto.
10. oversee shipping activities for the entire factory.
supervisory responsibilities:
* manage hourly workforce comprised of receiving clerks, material handlers, and cycle counters.
* foster effective communication within teams and the management structure to resolve barriers and problems.
* lead by example, promoting a culture of safety within the warehouse and overseeing initiatives supporting business goals.
* provide technical knowledge and leadership to inventory control and management.
qualifications:
1. bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred.
2. 5+ years related experience.
3. strong pc skills, proficiency in ms office, especially excel, access, powerpoint, and word.
4. mrp software expertise, preferably jde.
5. cpim certification desirable.
6. self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. able to plan and prioritize tasks effectively.
