Job description – accounting specialistdepartment: financelocation: [puebla, mexico] – [hybrid]reports to: accounting team leadposition summarythe accounting specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.key responsibilities- record and process accounting transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. - perform and review timely and accurate bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system. - liaise and collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure the completeness of bank reconciliations. - review and ensure accuracy of credit card transactions, maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards. - manage and update prepaid accounts schedules, preparing and posting related journal entries in the accounting system. - perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. - support the month-end and year-end closing processes. - maintain organized and accurate accounting records for audits and compliance. - collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and coding of expenses. - assist in process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.qualifications- bachelor's degree in accounting. - 3–5 years of experience in accounting roles. - strong knowledge of accounting principles (gaap / ifrs). - proficiency with erp systems – sap an asset. - strong skills in microsoft excel. - excellent organizational and time management skills. - excellent critical thinking and results oriented. - strong attention to detail and accuracy.preferred qualifications- experience in multinational companies. - experience working with multiple currencies. - advanced english proficiency (spoken and written).
