Objective: the controller will lead the accounting, financial reporting, and controllership function in mexico, supporting the consolidation of two business units and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, driving an efficient financial close process, and aligning local reporting with corporate standards. The controller will work closely with the fp&a team to ensure alignment between management reporting and statutory financials, while ensuring compliance with ifrs and us gaap. Requirements: lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Consolidate financial statements across two business units in mexico. Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, ifrs, and us gaap requirements. Oversee general accounting, balance sheet integrity, and account reconciliations. Review p&l and balance sheet trends, identifying risks and ensuring proper reserves. Implement and maintain strong internal controls in line with corporate and sox requirements. Partner with the fp&a team to ensure alignment between financial reporting and business performance analysis. Drive continuous improvement in closing, consolidation, and reporting processes. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Support tax and statutory compliance in coordination with internal and external advisors. Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to standardize accounting processes and reporting structures. Support integration of new businesses, including implementation of accounting policies and reporting frameworks. Support in implementing internal control frameworks and remediation plans within the region to ensure compliance and company policy adherence. Collaborate with the regional controller to identify and implement controllership efficiencies across different areas. Support the regional controller in partnering with the global tax team to enhance effective tax rates and regulatory frameworks. Aid in optimizing the financial closing process and reporting practices for the region's operating companies. Participate in harmonizing financial reporting procedures across operating entities, including mapping p&l and balance sheet accounts. Review balance sheet trends and reserves and establish a process for monitoring balance sheet reconciliations. Contribute to m&a integration efforts by installing close processes, adopting accounting policies, and setting up financial reporting structures. Support the global financial reporting team on external reporting matters at a group level. Requirements: bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 7-10 years of experience in accounting, controllership, or audit roles is desirable. At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational setting. Strong knowledge of ifrs and us gaap (mandatory). Experience with financial consolidation and reporting tools (e.g., hyperion/hfm). Advanced skills in microsoft excel and powerpoint and financial systems proficiency. Strong understanding of internal controls and sox compliance. Previous experience in big4 is highly desirable. Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach to collaborating with internal stakeholders fluent in english
