Product definition engineer – internship (pde)
job description summary: create and/or update component drawing packages using siemens nx. Interact with cross‑functional engineering teams – electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing – to collaborate on new designs and document changes using the latest drafting standards.
roles and responsibilities
* implement composite material characterization on models and drawing definitions.
* identify continuous‑improvement opportunities in composite modeling and definitions.
* collaborate with technical experts to document and establish the design process for composites components.
* create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies (2‑d cross‑sections, 3‑d models, tolerance stack‑ups, electronic data formats) to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
* support different engine programs by creating, modifying, and releasing design drawings and models.
* develop conceptual knowledge of engineering disciplines and participate in specialized support roles.
* apply general business knowledge developed through education or past experience.
* understand how the work of own team contributes to wider organizational objectives.
* resolve issues using established procedures; consult supervisor or senior team members for issues outside defined parameters.
* collaborate with others to solve issues.
* for customer‑facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and ge.
* exchange technical information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
required qualifications
* currently enrolled in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or related field with at least 1.5 years to graduation.
* strong communication skills in both english & spanish.
* able to solve problems independently.
* solid knowledge of a cad system – siemens nx.

job description summary: develop and support software solutions that enable efficient product definition and engineering workflows. Create and update assembly modules and drawing packages in siemens nx; build supporting tools such as scripts, apis, user interfaces, and database‑backed applications.

* provide technical support for existing web and desktop applications, including troubleshooting and minor enhancements.

required qualifications
* currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in software engineering or a related field, with at least 1 year remaining before graduation.
* strong communication skills in both english and spanish.
* solid understanding of programming principles, design patterns, and best practices.
* experience with software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, testing, maintenance).
desired characteristics
* ability to understand and use software frameworks that integrate with advanced cad/cam/cae platforms.
* cad/cae software knowledge, preferably siemens nx.
* experience upgrading, configuring, and debugging existing systems using .net languages (e.g., c#).
* experience with two or more object‑oriented programming languages (java, python, c#, c++).
* experience with databases (ms sql, postgresql, or similar).
* ability to document, plan, and execute software tasks and small projects independently.
