*key responsibilities*
- act as regulatory technical expert to support compliance of new & existing fire projects
- interpret regulatory standards and advise engineering teams so they meet product requirements
- clarify necessary document changes and guide technical publication team to mitigate concerns
- define product approval strategy in the areas of design, functionality and documentation
- prepare test plans, setup systems, coordinate testing and obtain approval results with agencies
- perform software & hardware testing to identify performance gaps & improvement opportunities
- analyze task risks, deadlines & priorities to help management derive realistic project schedule
- resolve ongoing compliance concerns with engineering, marketing & technical publication teams
- utilize quality control procedures and approval guides to perform responsible test executions
- direct group of global team members on test methodologies to comply with local requirements
- develop standard works, implement best practices and train engineering team members
- maintain product & equipment compliance to latest standards (changes in en, bs, ul/ulc, iec, etc.)
- resolve manufacturing audit concerns by providing accurate & complete information
- utilize resources and optimize strategies for fastest way to execute projects
- identify test failure root causes and work with engineers on corrective action to resolve failures
*you must have*
- bachelor of science in engineering
- 8 years of experience with new product development, agency approvals or in a certified laboratory
- 5 years of full lifecycle project management experience and the ability to provide understanding of key technical terms

- preferred master of science in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or computer science
- desire experience with relevant certification agencies: ul/ulc, etl, csa, tuv, bre, cnpp afnor, vds, etc.

- proven experience to engage multidisciplinary teams to resolve problems
- ability to learn and utilize lab equipment and relevant software
