This role is responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of key safety components including airbags, seat belts, and steering wheel systems, ensuring compliance with global standards and successful program execution.key responsibilities:lead the design, development, and release of restraint system components (airbags, seat belts, steering wheel). Manage engineering deliverables including dfmea, dvp&r, change notices, and compliance reports. Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, purchasing, and program management. Track, root cause, and resolve issues throughout development, pre-production, launch, and serial life. Support plant activities during build phases and sop. Ensure compliance with fmvss, ece, and other global safety regulations. Support system-level integration and packaging of restraint systems. Manage passive safety requirements and, when applicable, steering wheel features such as hands-on detection and heating systems.basic qualifications:bachelor's degree in engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive product development. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Experience managing engineering documentation and working within program timelines.preferred qualifications:experience in restraint systems including airbags, seat belts, and steering wheel components. Knowledge of vehicle-level safety system integration. Experience with fmvss, homologation, and certification processes. Hands-on experience with nx and teamcenter. Familiarity with dfmea, pfmea, dvp&r, and fea/cae tools.
