join tapi on our exciting standalone journey as we shape the future of pharmaceutical api manufacturing. Due to our standalone journey, we are currently in the transition phase in building our hr foundation in-house to a full hr responsibility that covers, ta, payroll, hr operations and hire-to-retire processes.
we’re seeking a dynamic and experienced site hr head to lead all human resources operations at our lerma production plant in mexico.
in this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to build, design and shape the new hr foundation for the site.
you will be the strategic point of contact for hr at the site, collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders and steering the local hr team to elevate employee engagement, compliance, and operational excellence. We are looking for a locally-based professional with deep knowledge of mexican labor laws, regulatory compliance, and a strong grasp of the unique dynamics within a manufacturing environment.
how you’ll spend your day
strategic leadership & hr expertise
* provide strategic hr support to site management across all facets of people-related decisions.
* serve as the site’s hr subject matter expert, advising on policy, compliance, and best practices.
hr operations oversight
* lead and manage the full hr cycle, including hire-to-retire, payroll, talent acquisition, and hr operations.
* oversee the site hr team, fostering collaboration and continuous development.
talent development & succession planning
* support managers in defining employee development plans, mentorship programs, and succession strategies.
* implement performance management processes to enhance individual and team outcomes.
* identify performance gaps and drive talent development initiatives to close them.
organizational growth & transformation
* execute all hr segments including employment, learning, talent management, organizational changes, and transformation initiatives.
* strategically identify future workforce needs and develop competencies aligned with site goals.
compensation, budget & retention
* develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies, including compensation planning.
* ensure compliance with the site’s operative payroll budget and contribute to accurate forecasting.
managerial coaching & workplace culture
* advise managers on performance feedback, coaching techniques, and development planning.
* promote employee well-being and foster a positive, communicative work environment.
* lead efforts in conflict resolution and employee relations to strengthen workplace harmony.
recruitment & onboarding
* design effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent aligned with business needs.
* manage onboarding processes for seamless integration of new hires into the plant’s culture and operations.
employer branding & outreach
* champion tapi’s new brand identity through strategic partnerships with universities and institutions.
* actively support tapi’s market positioning and employer reputation in mexico’s talent landscape.
qualifications
to thrive in this role, you’ll bring a solid foundation in human resources leadership paired with hands-on expertise in managing hr within a manufacturing environment. We're looking for a driven and collaborative individual who can navigate both strategic and operational challenges with confidence.
education
* bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (required)
* master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred)
professional experience
* minimum 10 years of experience in human resources management, ideally within a production or industrial setting
* demonstrated experience in payroll migration projects
* prior success in leading union relationships and negotiations
* lead and implement development initiatives & programs
knowledge & expertise
* in-depth understanding of mexican labor laws, regulations, and hr best practices
* experience implementing core hr functions, including hire-to-retire processes, performance management, and organizational development
language & communication
* fluency in english (spoken and written) is essential
