* determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
* set ups components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
* monitors machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
* welds components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
* prepares metal surfaces by cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture.
* clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
* follows and enforces strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
* performs other duties as assigned.
*basic qualifications* must be able to read, interpret blueprints and design and follow engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
* must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
* must speak, read, and understand the english language.
* must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
* must have a valid professional driver's license with at least restriction code 2.*preferred qualifications*job specifications: special certifications or training:* completed course with the following national certifications is a plus: + flux-cored arc welding (fcaw) + gas metal arc welding (gmaw) + gas tungsten arc welding (gtaw) + shielded arc welding (smaw)*education:* must have at least high school diploma, vocational or technical course graduate is required.
