Senior project engineer role overview
this position entails implementing and enhancing control systems on dgm's infrastructure to ensure superior customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our global team to deliver project excellence in support of utility customers across the energy generation, transmission, and distribution industries.
the senior project engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, integrating, testing, and commissioning hardware and software requirements on customer scada systems. Additionally, they will provide technical sales support for state-of-the-art power systems applications, including sales presentations and product demonstrations.
responsibilities include evaluating contract specifications, defining project requirements through customer communication, and communicating these requirements to other departments as necessary. The senior project engineer will also perform system and application design, customize system, hardware, and network configuration based on customer requirements, and provide ongoing customer support and assistance per contract maintenance and warranty.
required skills and qualifications
* bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
* minimum of 5+ years of project engineering/management work experience.
* ability to travel up to 20%.
* experience in one or more of the following: scada, power systems, electric utility operations/dispatch, real-time control systems, client/server applications, network communications, unix/linux/windows operating systems; experience in software programming and scripting (python, c/c++).
* experience in databases (oracle, sql server, postgresql, mongodb, cassandra), json, and common utility protocols (iccp, dnp, multispeak).
* excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
