Senior Site Reliability Engineer _ Senior Developer
Location: Remote Mexico
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Developer to join our SRE team. This role is ideal for experienced developers who want to pivot towards SRE by building internal tools, automating processes, and developing small-scale solutions to enhance team efficiency and system reliability. You will primarily work on creating well-designed, easy-to-understand tools and automations, with a focus on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop internal tools and automation scripts to support SRE and infrastructure tasks
- Collaborate closely with SRE team members to identify automation opportunities
- Write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code for internal use
- Provide explanations and documentation for tools, processes, and workflows
- Participate in troubleshooting and optimizing automation solutions and deployment processes
- Strive for continuous improvement, learning new technologies and best practices
Qualifications
- Strong experience with modern programming languages such as Go, C#, C/C++, Java, Rust, or Elixir
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployments, and ecosystem tools
- Good knowledge of Linux systems and environment (troubleshooting and scripting)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to team members and stakeholders
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles, including strong and weak areas of OOP
- Proven ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving mindset
- Eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation or building developer tools
- Familiarity with cloud environments, especially Kubernetes-related ecosystems
- Ability to create user-friendly documentation and deliver presentations for end-users and team members
