Job overviewto plan, organize, direct, and control all operations within the service area of the station which may include associated gsp's, in a manner that provides maximum service to customers, allows on-time departures of all aircraft, and maintains a highly productive and cost-effective station operation.responsibilitiesselects, trains, develops, and motivates hourly and managerial personnel.
controls and utilizes manpower through planning, organizing, and scheduling to maximize productivity while working within a capital and operating expense budgets.
monitors daily station performance reports.
utilizes cosmos and famis reports, delivery records, courier pick-up manifests, time cards, billing documents, cash sales recap, datacomm messages, and petty cash reports to monitor all operating functions to ensure maximum efficiency and coordinates o.d.a.'S with cartage agents.
provides personnel with information regarding benefits, wage, and salary policies, personnel and operating policies/procedures, etc. and ensures their uniform application and administration.
supports corporate image program through proper use of signage, uniforms, etc.
lends personal support to the sales effort within the area served by the station, maintaining direct interface with the local sales organization and top accounts.
coordinates the operations of this unit with other departments such as system control, hub, station management, vehicle and ground administration, aircraft maintenance, etc.
coordinates trucking procedures in the event of emergencies, poor weather, inadequate lift capabilities, etc.
provides contingencies in case of equipment failure, etc.
keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with fedex, government policies, procedures, regulations, and/or leases.
ensures proper security for fedex and customer properties.
ensures all subordinate personnel are directed and supervised within corporate personnel policies and procedures.qualificationsa bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
five (5) years related business experience, preferably two (2) years of which is in station operations, and including one (1) year management experience, is required.
knowledge of fedex field operations, features of service, systems, policies and procedures, and technical proficiency in all ground interface operations are required.
strong basic management, human relations, and communication skills are required.
