what you’ll do?
* administer and support sql server databases across production and non-production environments with a strong focus on stability and performance.
* continuously monitor production sql server databases, scheduled jobs, and background processes to ensure successful execution and compliance with sla requirements.
* proactively identify anomalies, failures, or performance degradation in database jobs and services.
* identify, analyze, and resolve long-running or stalled sql server jobs caused by performance bottlenecks, inefficient queries, locking/blocking issues, or resource constraints.
* perform root cause analysis for performance-related issues and recommend long-term optimization strategies.
* execute database-related deployment tasks during approved deployment windows, including schema changes, data migrations, and configuration updates.
* participate in on-call rotations to support p1 (critical) production incidents and ensure rapid response when required.
* resolve and update service requests, incidents, and change tasks logged in servicenow in accordance with established slas and operational standards.
what you’ll bring:
* 9+ years of hands-on experience working with microsoft sql server databases in enterprise production environments.
* strong experience with sql server job monitoring, performance troubleshooting, and operational support.
* proven ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues affecting production workloads.
* experience supporting deployments and database changes during scheduled maintenance windows.
* hands-on experience managing incidents, service requests, and change records using servicenow or similar itsm tools.
