responsibilities
* build complex, scalable web services and infrastructure that supports them
* develop new features, with tests, that can support our growing user base
* evaluate current software architecture and implement enhancements as required
* help evolve and maintain existing code bases, with attention for high-quality coding standards and best practices
* build and scale automated testing infrastructure to support quality assurance
* cross-team collaboration and coordination to ensure reliable, secure, available and scalable releases
* mentor other engineers, engage in team discussions, and review code
minimum qualifications
* curiosity about how things work
* self-motivated, autonomous, empathetic and great communication skills
* ability to participate in technical architecture discussions and drive technical decisions
* ability and desire to jump in to fix things and to make things better
* experience writing production code in one of the modern programming languages
* experience with building web apis (restful, json:api)
* experience with data architecture and data modeling
* experience with aws rds, postgresql, mysql and nosql databases
preferred qualifications
* experience with javascript and nodejs ecosystem
* experience with express, or similar web servers
* experience with queueing/messaging systems, or background job processors
* experience scaling and optimizing schemas, performance tuning sql and data pipelines
* experience with docker and docker compose
* experience with aws, jenkins and ci/cd practices
* experience with terraform
