responsibilities
* provide database problem‑solving services to all stakeholders during the project lifecycle (development to post‑production).
* offer professional guidance and coaching to project management, development teams, implementation groups and internal/external amdocs customers.
* design, develop, configure and administer large and critical database systems ensuring high performance and improving complex code when conventional approaches fail.
* lead and define tuning of database parameters (physical layout, memory buffers) and promote standardization per product across worldwide customers.
* design strategy for backup & recovery processes during the project lifecycle and guide their implementation.
* act as the authority in amdocs with advanced competence, demonstrate technology expertise, and define the db vision and strategy.
* serve as the ultimate level of technical escalation for critical incidents in production customer systems with direct business impact.

qualifications
* bachelor’s or b.sc. in computer science or equivalent.
* 7–8 years of experience as a db2 dba in a software company.
* experience creating and modifying db2 objects: database, storage group, tablespace, tables, views, indexes, etc.
* proficiency with db2 commands: stop/start databases, display command, cancel thread, term & display utility, etc.
* hands‑on experience with db2 utilities: reorg, runstats, backup/recovery of tablespaces, repair, load/unload utilities.
* ability to bind/rebind plans/packages and grant required accesses.
* experience with database monitoring, replication, dba administration and troubleshooting.
* knowledge of db2 privileges and racf – z/os – tso, ispf, jcl.
