Position Summary
The Operational Excellence Leader will champion Lean methodologies and cultural transformation across our manufacturing organization. This role focuses on building a sustainable Lean Management System (LMS), fostering employee engagement, and embedding Lean principles into daily operations to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in coaching, facilitating, and enabling teams to eliminate waste and continuously improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and sustain a Lean Management System across manufacturing operations.
- Partner with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to embed Lean principles in daily management and decision-making.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping workshops, and Gemba walks to identify and eliminate waste.
- Establish and maintain visual management systems, standard work, and performance boards.
- Coach leaders and employees on Lean tools and thinking (5S, pull systems, SMED, PDCA, tiered daily meetings).
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by empowering employees to solve problems at the source.
- Support strategic projects focused on throughput, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
- Track and communicate progress toward operational excellence goals.
- Apply Six Sigma tools (root cause analysis, DMAIC, variation reduction) to complement Lean initiatives.
- Act as a change agent, fostering collaboration and buy-in across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations and Lean leadership roles.
- Proven experience in designing and deploying Lean systems.
- Lean Certification required (Lean Practitioner, Lean Leader, or equivalent).
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills on the shop floor.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in building engagement among front-line employees and leaders.
