Business development manager (bdm) for ny/nj/ct markets
el tequileno, a renowned tequila brand and winner of spirits business awards for 'mexico's best kept secret' and 'tequila brand of the year,' is seeking a business development manager to support the eastern sales team. The position reports to the eastern regional manager and focuses on developing on- and off-premise accounts in ny, nj, and ct.
the bdm will work under the direction of the eastern regional manager to build and maintain positive relationships with wholesalers and direct accounts. This includes outreach, education, training, and marketing initiatives to prioritize el tequileno in both new and existing accounts.
responsibilities
1. build and maintain an active presence in target markets and accounts.
2. establish trusted relationships with owners and buyers.
3. deliver compelling, fact-based selling stories highlighting brand distinctions such as family ownership, awards, and authenticity.
4. support distributor management through motivation, education, and targeted selling strategies emphasizing brand value.
5. collaborate with all distributor channel teams.
6. use database tools to identify new accounts and achieve sales targets.
7. develop promotional plans tailored to each account's channel.
8. utilize platforms to track sales and marketing results.
9. plan daily, weekly, and monthly activities proactively.
requirements
* frequent travel by car and public transportation.
* ability to lift at least 45 pounds.
* full-time availability, including evenings and weekends.
* moderate to heavy physical activity, such as moving cases and setting up for events.
