We are seeking a proactive and skilled Plant Quality Engineer to join our team. The idóneo candidate will be a key player in ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process and acting as a primary liaison for all customer quality‑related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Process Quality & Continuous Improvement
Monitor and analyze key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), scrap rate, and First‑Time Quality (FTQ). Lead corrective action plans and process improvement initiatives when KPIs fall below target.
Utilize statistical tools like SPC, Pareto charts, and other process validation methods to ensure manufacturing processes are stable and capable.
Manage the non‑conforming product process, including implementing effective containment actions and directing appropriate rework or disposition.
Ensure all Control Plans are accurate, up‑to‑date, and consistently followed on the production floor.
Conduct periodic audits of finished goods and determine appropriate sample sizes to ensure product meets all specifications.
Provide quality‑related training and guidance to production teams, including operators, team leaders, and quality technicians, on new processes, quality controls, and reaction plans.
Customer Quality & Problem Solving
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues, ensuring timely communication and effective problem resolution.
Lead all problem‑solving activities using structured methodologies, such as the 8D process, to identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Validate the effectiveness of containment actions for both internal and external customers to minimize the impact of quality issues.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address customer concerns and support all quality requirements.
Support and participate in internal and external quality system audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
2+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing quality function.
Proven experience in leading problem‑solving activities and applying quality tools (8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc.).
Strong understanding and experience with Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949 and customer‑specific requirements).
Excellent problem‑solving skills with a strong ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers and internal teams.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple customer requirements, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
100% fluency in business English is required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Proficiency in quality‑related software and tools (e.g., Minitab, statistical analysis software).
