Job Description
The main focus of this role is to support participants as they prepare to receive a PEF loan, as well as to help them succeed by following-up on good progress in school, graduation, and achievement of their career and self-reliance goals. This person works directly with the PEF Loan Application and Support Center Supervisors, as well as Self-Reliance Services Managers, group facilitators, PEF Loan Mentors, and PEF participants. S/he also coordinates directly with the Global Service Center (GSC) to service PEF participants and Loan Mentors. The candidate will work in an outbound call center environment, providing quality advisory services to PEF Loan Mentors and participants. This person should be comfortable making repeated outbound contacts, as well as providing guidance and counsel to participants.
Responsibilities
- Oversees Area-level Perpetual Education Fund (PEF) loan disbursement processes.
(25%) Conducts initial interviews of PEF Loan Mentors, providing advice and continued counsel
(25%) Guides PEF Loan Mentors regarding participants who are at-risk or are not making progress
(20%) Conducts annual loan interviews with PEF participants, establishing guidelines and forming direction
(10%) Oversees Area-level PEF loan disbursement process and provides disbursement assistance to participants, as needed
- Assists with the overall clean-up and evaluation of the PEF Preferred Lists
- Provides support to SRS Managers and group facilitators in the participant preparation process
- Performs loan restructuring functions
- Assists with other call queues, as needed
(20%) Helps develop EFT program with Schools and alternate Check Distribution process through SRCs.
Qualifications
- AS degree or equivalent in business, finance, accounting or related discipline.
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Knowledge of local education system related to vocational and professional education, schools and understanding of national career trends to enable payment and recording of tuition for PEF participants.
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with PEF applicants, helping them to take responsibility to meet disbursement requirements.
- Must be detailed oriented and have the initiative to resolve issues with applications or the PEF endorsed criteria. Proactive in solving problems and moving PEF applications effectively in a timely manner.
- Previous clerk or Church leadership experience is a plus. Must demonstrate high level of initiative, creativity, spiritual maturity, leadership and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must have ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers to utilize databases, spreadsheets, word processing, internet, and e-mail communications.
- Detail-oriented; possesses the initiative to quickly resolve issues. Proactive and solution focused.
