the role: executive sous chef
the executive sous chef supports the executive chef in overseeing all culinary operations across the resort, including restaurants, banquets, special events, and private in‑residence dining experiences. This role ensures exceptional quality, consistency, and service while maintaining operational efficiency and a high‑performing culinary team.
what you will do
* oversee multi‑outlet culinary operations: supervise daily kitchen operations across all resort outlets, restaurants, bars, banquets, and in‑residence dining, ensuring smooth, efficient, and coordinated service.
* ensure culinary excellence & consistency: uphold the highest standards of food quality, preparation, presentation, and compliance with haccp, four seasons sanitation guidelines, and all regulatory requirements.
* lead, train & develop culinary teams: manage recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high‑performing kitchen culture.
* manage costs, inventory & operational efficiency: control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, purchasing, budgeting, and inventory management while maintaining quality and consistency systems.
* deliver exceptional guest experiences: execute high‑end private dinners, chef’s tables, and villa dining; collaborate across departments to ensure personalized service and flawless execution for events and special requests.
what you bring
* mandatory proficiency in english and spanish
* culinary degree or equivalent professional training; alternatively, a college degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or culinary arts, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of experience in luxury resorts, high‑end hotels, or fine‑dining establishments, including experience managing multi‑outlet or high‑volume culinary operations.
* 3–5 years of experience in culinary and/or food & beverage leadership roles; experience in pastry design and production is considered an asset.
* strong leadership skills with proven experience supervising and developing large, diverse kitchen teams.
* expertise in international cuisines, modern culinary techniques, and the ability to create bespoke menus for high‑level private dining experiences.
* ability to operate culinary production equipment, kitchen tools, computer systems, and food & beverage management software.
* excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and quality.
