about the role
the accounting & controllership specialist is responsible for executing general accounting processes, monthly closing activities, account reconciliations, fixed assets accounting, and capex control for carrier mexico. This role ensures compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and carrier policies while supporting audits, financial reporting, and process improvements.
key responsibilities:
as a specialist, accounting & controllership, you'll be responsible for:
* perform monthly and quarterly closing processes ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
* execute balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts.
* manage and control fixed assets, including capitalization, asset tracking, and depreciation.
* lead and monitor capex processes, ensuring correct accounting treatment and project capitalization.
* analyze financial trends, operations, costs, revenues, and obligations to support business decisions.
* prepare and validate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, comparing actual variances.
* develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control processes.
* support internal and external audits ensuring compliance and timely completion.
* lead small-scale projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
requirements

as a minimum you must have:
* bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
* 3–5 years of experience in accounting, including general ledger, reconciliations, and closing.
* advanced english (conversational).
* strong command of excel.
* sap experience (preferred).
* hfm smartview / oracle (preferred).
* ariba experience.
soft skills:
* proactivity and initiative—able to communicate effectively with management.
* strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
* attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
* ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* effective communication and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
