job summary:
the corporate income tax auditor 4 is responsible for conducting complex audits, reviewing amended returns, and resolving taxpayer appeals. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. You will work closely with other auditors to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
tax refund and audit reviews:
as an auditor, you will be responsible for conducting thorough examinations of audits and determining recomputed tax liabilities. You will also be responsible for preparing detailed reports of audit findings and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you may be required to represent the department at informal and formal hearings.
research & analysis:
you will be expected to research difficult issues and resolve taxpayer appeals timely, fairly, accurately, and consistently. You will also be responsible for explaining audit adjustments and conclusions to taxpayers and their representatives.
agency/department compliance & continuous improvement:
as a key member of our team, you will be expected to remain current on all laws, regulations, policies, and best practices related to taxation. You will also be responsible for actively contributing to team and individual effectiveness through regular engagement in activities such as self-directed research, conferring with other practitioners, and participating in training and continuing education opportunities.
required skills and qualifications:
* a relevant degree from an accredited college or university such as bachelor's degree (e.g., b.a.)
* minimum three (3) years' related experience as an auditor, or equivalent experience
licenses & certifications:
advanced knowledge of corporate tax policy and procedures. Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state tax laws, statutes, and codes. Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (gaap). Advanced knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards (gaas).
