position overview
omi is seeking an
senior
quality engineer
to ensure the quality of new product and process development, from early stages of industrialization to series production. This role is critical in leading apqp activities, dfmeas, control plans, dimensional validations, and ppaps, while acting as the key interface between clients, suppliers, engineering, and production.

will drive defect prevention through robust controls, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring a smooth and reliable launch process.
responsabilities
* lead apqp activities, including dfmea, control plans, process flows, and ppap documentation.
* ensure project deliverables meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
* conduct dimensional validation, prototype and pre-production testing, and document results.
* support engineering changes, ensuring traceability in documentation systems.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers) and customers.
* identify risks and propose solutions during launch and industrialization phases.
* document quality activities and maintain compliance with iso 9001 and iatf 16949 standards.
* provide technical support during pilot runs and series launch.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
* 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in product launches.
* strong knowledge of apqp, dfmea, msa, ppap, and other core tools (aiag).
* experience in iso 9001:2015 and automotive quality standards (iatf 16949, formel q, qpn preferred).
* advanced/bilingual proficiency in english and spanish.
* hands-on experience with cad/cae and project management tools.
* strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
* proven experience working with clients and suppliers.
