job responsibilities
• collaborates with project teams, leaders and managers to determine and address data and reporting needs for various company projects.
• assesses and documents sources, structures and types of available business data.
• performs profiling and integration assessments across source data sets.
• assembles, analyzes and documents supporting metadata and lineage.
• determines the meaning of data and explains how various teams and leaders can leverage it to improve and streamline their processes. Recommends solutions to complex data issues.
• performs quality and accessibility testing and verification of ingested data sets.
• creates reports/presentations sharing findings and usage recommendations with the internal team and other stakeholders.
• creates detailed descriptions, definitions and integration requirements to be used by delivery teams for creating integrated, sharable data sets.
qualifications
what we’re looking for
• bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, information technology, or related field.
• experience in direct pharma / cro roles.
• experience in a data analysis or relevant role. Experience with data gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modeling/diagramming techniques.
• expert with microsoft excel and various business intelligence and analytical tools. Strong analytical skills.
• experience with identification of useful information within data sets and defining use cases that support decision making. Experience in data querying, data relationship concepts, able to execute basic sql-like queries.
• experience with data governance and metadata management tools like collibra. Additional benefits from knowledge of hortonworks / apache tools and master data management processes / tools.
• keen attention to detail. Willingness to make decisions and solve problems.
• communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience.
required:
* 3+ years of experience in working with data management teams supporting pharma field operations is required.
* 3+ years of experience in data-centric implementations such as sfa/crm and business intelligence tools.
* 3+ years of experience with data warehouse, master data management (mdm), and data integration initiatives.
* strong experience reading and writing queries in sql server or azure sql database is required.
* strong organizational skills.
* experience working in a production environment for multiple clients in a compliance industry.
