Process engineer (contract)
we are looking for a focused and self‑motivated process engineer to work in a dynamic industrial environment. The role focuses on designing, developing, validating and improving manufacturing processes, and supporting johnson controls’ capacity expansion plans.
responsibilities
* design, develop, validate manufacturing processes and contribute to the build‑up of new production cells.
* maintain and improve existing manufacturing methods and support capacity expansion.
* implement a safe work environment and promote accident prevention and investigation.
* design manufacturing cells and calculate optimal line capacities.
* verify time standards and calculate earned hours for family products.
* implement engineering changes and facilitate a3 problem‑solving.
* design future state value streams and create technical documentation (standard worksheets, oms, ods, fmea, dfam, etc.).
* share best practices based on internal and external benchmarking.
* evaluate and modify layouts of production lines and cells.
* lead and update databases demonstrating optimal routes, production times, machine assignments, and operator headcount.
* collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to implement lean manufacturing.
* reduce high‑risk priority numbers in manufacturing pfmea.
* drive process‑related activities for new product introduction from early planning through full production.
* coach, mentor, and train manufacturing technicians.
* perform other duties as assigned.
qualifications (required)
* industrial, mechatronic, or mechanical engineering degree.
* 5+ years of experience in harness manufacturing processes.
* 3+ years of experience with cable and wire machines and tools (cut, strip, terminate, crimp, terminal punching, wire marking, testers).
* autocad experience.
* fluent spoken and written english.
* strong knowledge of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning, and layout.
* project management experience.
* proven record of successful change‑management and cost‑reduction initiatives.
* strong communication skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
* original thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
