what you'll do
as a retail merchandise lead for the mx-co-ec sales market, in the merchandising function, you will drive the execution of the commercial agenda and merchandising strategy alongside merchandise managers to exceed business targets. The role requires a deep interest in customer and consumer behavior and stock management. The ideal candidate will have retail knowledge, a strong interest in products, analytical skills, and commercial acumen, aiming to enhance the customer shopping experience and market offerings.
this hybrid role reports to the merchandise manager for your concept and is based in mexico city, mx.
a day in the life
working at h&m means no two days are the same. Typical responsibilities include:
1. implement & execute regional merchandising strategy and commercial priorities:
* align regional assortment with merchandising manager
* optimize sales peaks based on calendar and customer behavior
* manage communication to sales and store teams
* understand market competition and customer profiles
* stay updated on regional assortment, demand, and inventory strategies
1. drive inventory management:
* manage full-price, discount, and sale activities in line with the regional strategy
* oversee stock management, sales, and end-of-period processes
* implement regional guidelines on assortment and allocation
* coordinate with inventory team on stock issues
* apply regional strategies for key product categories based on in-season performance
2. follow up and report progress:
* provide structured sales follow-up to the commercial team
* review and improve commercial plans annually
* monitor in-store commercial initiatives (travel two days a week)
* track kpis and benchmark performance across regions
* perform additional related activities
qualifications
who you are:
* university degree in business, economics, finance, or related fields
* 1-3 years experience in merchandising or sales
* strong retail knowledge and operational best practices
* sales-driven with commercial awareness
* knowledge of product lifecycle and stock management
* proficient in ms office, especially excel and powerpoint
* flexible, strategic, and adaptable to change
* fluent in english (oral and written)
