key responsibilities
* develop standardized production, quality, and customer-service standards.
* identify potential risks before they become problems, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action.
* perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings.
* build a strong team through coaching, mentoring, specific training, and performance evaluations.
* provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operations.
* establish and direct the plant quality policies & procedures.
* ensure there are no active escalations related to q1/sta, maintain strict compliance with customer requirements, and respond to risks immediately.
* ensure control plan maturity and robustness, eliminating recurrence and closing gaps identified during korn assessments and customer audits.
* drive a reduction in cost of poor quality (copq), including scrap, rework, and warranty, through preventive actions and root cause elimination.
* ensure 100% compliance with the ftq daily management routine, including disciplined follow-up and effective action closure.
* demonstrate strong leadership in quality management system execution, establishing cadence, operational discipline, and proactive escalation of risks.
* implement a formal customer follow-up cadence to ensure timely, accurate information delivery and continuous visibility into progress.
* optimize resource utilization by balancing workload and prioritizing critical tasks, ensuring business continuity.
* monitor plant quality on an ongoing basis and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
* monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
* encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
* develop a strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions, and recommending objectives.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
* 8 years of experience as a quality manager in the automotive industry.
* experience in metal-mechanics and welding processes.
* knowledge of iatf & vd6.3.
* experience managing large teams, 10+ people.
* advanced level of english.
* highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
* +6 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
* strong influencing, negotiation, and customer dispute management skills with assertive communication, emotional intelligence, and active listening.
* previous experience in budgeting/expense management and financial & accounting practices.
* experience implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as six sigma, 5-s, lean manufacturing, and transactional lean.
* broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
* strong leadership, team-building, and advanced coaching skills.
* ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
* understanding of manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering principles.
* excellent planning and organizational skills, balancing production and maintenance needs.
* excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.
