Senior water side execution manager job description
this role involves providing day-to-day leadership for waterside operations to achieve targeted volume and productivity objectives while maintaining a safe working environment.
the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing vessel and operations, ensuring safety, service, and operating efficiencies are achieved. They will also lead the continuous improvement of operational processes and related activities.
* drive effectiveness in a highly technological environment by implementing current best practices in safe operational execution processes.
* manage staff and labor to achieve established safety, productivity goals, and volume targets.
* lead, motivate, and instruct water side operational team members and direct reports on daily activities, setting priorities and structured tasks and goals.
* implement skills matrices for critical positions within the execution department.
* coach and motivate operational team members and peers to enhance performance.
* develop training curricula for equipment operators (shuttle carriers, sts) and closely monitor its execution with the training department.
* establish training programs for non-equipment operator water side positions (lashers, crane foremen, signalmen, etc.) and oversee their implementation with the training department.
* support white collar staff career development to ensure they perform at efficient and effective levels by monitoring performance and taking appropriate action.
* plan work and berthing for shifts based on vessel schedules and provide supervision for subordinates.
* collaborate with other functions to facilitate alignment and integration of all operational processes.
* provide general support to other operations or non-operations as required.
