the information technology lead at jabil, inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic development of it systems and infrastructure within a specific domain or location, ensuring alignment with business objectives and jabil's global it standards.
responsibilities
* lead and mentor a team of it professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
* manage the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure, including servers, workstations, storage, and communication systems.
* oversee the resolution of complex technical issues and provide advanced troubleshooting support for it systems and applications.
* develop and implement it policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and operational efficiency.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements, propose solutions, and support it-related projects from inception to completion.
* manage it budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes for hardware, software, and services.
* ensure compliance with jabil's it security policies, industry regulations, and data privacy standards.
* conduct regular system performance monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning.
* stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and benefit to jabil.
* prepare and present reports on it performance, project status, and key metrics to management.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
* minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information technology, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
* proven experience managing complex it infrastructure, including servers (windows/linux), networking (lan/wan, firewalls, vpn), virtualization (vmware, hyper‑v), and cloud platforms (azure, aws).
* strong understanding of it security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., iso 27001, nist).
* experience with it service management frameworks (e.g., itil) and ticketing systems.
* excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* demonstrated project management skills and experience leading it initiatives.
* relevant industry certifications (e.g., pmp, ccna, mcsa, itil) are a plus.
* ability to travel occasionally as required.
