*major tasks*:
- lead and ensure the safe, cost-effective and timely production and packaging of solid finished goods, fulfilling local and international regulations.
- safety: guarantee “0 accidents” by taking all appropriate measures (e.g. behavior-based safety, implementation of process, plant & machinery safety, occupational health and industrial safety programs, learning organization).
- quality: ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (especially gmp) and guarantee stable processes, with a special focus on “right-first-time”.
- engineering: guarantee proper operation and maintenance of equipment, instruments and facilities together with head of engineering, supported by engineering area.
- supply chain: ensure meeting of customer and consumer needs in close collaboration with the planning department, with a focus on changing demands (e.g. ecommerce, personalized medicine).
- optimization of processes and unit operations: ensure continuous improvement culture with a strong focus on efficiency (e.g. Oae) and on strengthening of the culture of operational excellence.
- strive for excellence in collaboration with all areas involved (e.g. Engineering, quality).
- strategic projects: lead the strategic development of the area by defining and implementing of projects (e.g. new technologies, new products, new markets, digitalization, automatization, flexibility)
- finances / reporting: plan and manage the operating expenses (opex), guarantee competitiveness of the site by meeting all relevant kpis (e.g. Ftes, savings).
- people & culture: develop production personnel, by ensuring talent attraction, training and coaching of competencies and by building a high-performance culture.
- drive site advancement of pss strategy by acting as a lead and role model for the asset ownership pillar by exemplifying and driving the pillar concept and its tools in and with the respective teams (hear model, performance dialogue, gembas...)
- ensure that pss methodology is cascaded through the organization
*skills.*
- education: pharmaceutical / chemical degree (e.g. Qfb, chemical engineer, biochemistry engineer, qfi, related master degree desirable) or equivalent degree.
- languages: spanish, english advanced (able to interact in forums at a global level)
- experience: at least 5 years in pharmaceutical or chemical industry as plant, production and/or packaging manager.
- knowledge: leading groups/departments, local and international pharmaceutical regulations, gmps, lean & 6 sigma tools, digital concepts, investment projects.
- main bayer competencies: costumer focus, drives results, manages complexity, business insight, strategic mindset, builds effective teams, courage, cultivates innovation.
- skills: leadership and communication skills, project management experience, results-oriented, managing complexity, personnel management, able to work and deliver results under pressure, strong focus on continuous improvement, high flexibility and adaptability for problem solving.
