Job description
we are seeking a motivated and highly technical professional to join our team as a health and safety manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating all health and safety policies, practices, and seeking solutions for our employees.
key responsibilities:
* develop the health, safety, and hygiene program for mexico, including identifying hse needs across mining units, updating procedures and manuals to align with regulations, and ensuring compliance with client requirements.
* coordinate compliance with occupational health and safety standards across mexico operations and field/site services, including monitoring entry requirements at mining units.
* implement environmental management programs in collaboration with the environmental team.
* ensure compliance with hazardous waste management procedures and environmental standards across our premises and mining units.
required skills and qualifications:
* degree in engineering, occupational medicine, health & safety, or related field or demonstrate years of experience.
* osha/niosh certifications desirable.
* iso 9001, 45001, 14001 auditor certification desirable, or experience attending or implementing those.
* effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* effective negotiation and presentation skills.
* ability to travel within short notice.
* proven hse management experience (+5 years), experience with exposure to heavy machining operation, field services, construction, mining, metals or petro chemical industry.
