role summary/purpose
supplier and wabtec with respect to specifications and all aspect of purchase parts relationship with external wabtec supplier.
positions requiring understanding of concepts, methods and procedures to enable sourcing execution, while adhering to standard work.
essential responsibilities
- place and follow-up on purchase orders to support delivery to internal customers.
- manage relationships with suppliers for po execution, promising, shipments, and maintenance of po's, all to ensure material will be delivered on time and leveraging wabtec's supply chain connect system for all po and quoting activities.
- analyze and track supplier promise date accuracy and develop reports to ensure supplier promise date accuracy.
- manage problems and schedule changes related to shop mrp adjustments.
- manage the need for premium transportation, working to avoid air shipments.
- work on reducing the excess on inventory.
- work together with quality and engineering to reduce the impact of non-conforming material.
- assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability.
understand strategies for assigned commodities & proactively drive initiatives to meet sourcing objectives under supervision.
- support global commodity leader in their inflation/deflation goals.
- serve as the primary accounts payable and accounts receivable interface for your supply base.
- work within a team setting and / or under guidance.
- alternatively: execute routine but complex analysis.
ascp reschedule signals; flaws in system signals, procedures and processes and suggests improvements.
contribute to project as a team member.
- act as a mentor for less seasoned buyer in all areas of fulfillment.
- standalone project to be established; will be defined by materials managers, fulfillment manager, and fulfillment leader to support fulfillment and coe processes gaps.
goal of the project will be to deliver quantifiable benefits to the services coe through either cost, quality or delivery.
- support wabtec global services, nordco, among other sites with fulfillment as oracle implementation and operational excellence setups are completed and sites are on boarded into fulfillment standard work.
qualifications/requirements
bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
