opportunity
develop, analyze, and implement the quality program across three plants, supervising compliance with established quality standards. Additionally, oversee the industrial engineering area, ensuring proper manufacturing processes and continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, productivity, and reducing waste and costs. Improve working conditions using engineering techniques and ensure accurate calculation of standard costs for each product (time studies, bom, weights).
responsibilities:
1. lead the daily efforts of industrial engineers, quality engineers, iso coordinator, and new product engineer.
2. supervise continuous improvement program (kos) and projects such as six sigma, v-dep, 5's, value stream mapping, setup reduction, six-step improvement model, flow mapping, visual pull - kanban, 3p, and ergonomics, including all internal standard work events in both plants.
3. coordinate activities like cycle time reduction, effort and inventory reduction, and shop floor improvements to enhance working conditions, reduce waste, using the 7 waste reduction forms.
4. coordinate the implementation and maintenance of iso-9002 certification and improve the quality system.
5. assess the technical feasibility of new product concepts and modifications, defining conditions for new products to minimize process problems during introduction, ensuring certification processes are followed.
6. analyze processes to determine optimal working conditions related to space, layout, lighting, breaks, labor, tools, and equipment.
7. work with production to minimize rework and waste in new and existing products.
8. ensure accuracy of sap data related to manufacturing versions, cost collectors, scheduling headers, boms, and cross-reference tables.
9. monitor new products through each process stage, ensuring adherence to procedures and implementing corrective actions as needed.
10. ensure finished products meet quality specifications and support process areas to reduce defects.
11. verify critical materials and tools meet specifications.
12. ensure testing methods, tools, and equipment comply with procedures and specifications.
13. verify laboratory tests (water consumption, color, performance, dimensions) meet established standards.
14. coordinate activities to ensure both plants comply with cupcr and nom standards.
15. maintain control over all quality system documents, including drawings, boms, procedures, formats, and iso-9002 documents.
skills/requirements
educational background: bachelor's degree, preferably in industrial engineering or quality.
experience: at least 8 years in manufacturing environments, with managerial experience in related disciplines.
knowledge: familiarity with supplier quality management, quality systems, manufacturing technologies. Bilingual in english and spanish preferred. Certification: green belt or black belt preferred.
