we are seeking an experienced *cost accountant* to join our team within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for analyzing production costs, maintaining accurate cost records, and providing leadership with data‑driven insights that enhance operational efficiency and overall profitability
- maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
- perform monthly cost variance analysis and present findings to management.
- support month‑end close activities, including preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
- monitor inventory transactions and ensure accuracy of boms, routings, and production reporting.
- conduct periodic inventory audits and participate in cycle counts.
- prepare cost models for new products, process updates, and capital projects.
- collaborate with production and engineering teams to understand cost drivers and recommend process improvements.
- assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs.
- ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.
Experiência y requisitos
- bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost analysis.
- proficiency with erp systems (e.g., sap, oracle, netsuite, or similar).
- advanced excel skills.
- strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
*preferred qualifications / competencies*
- experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- cpa, cma, or active progress toward certification.
- experience in high‑volume or complex manufacturing operations.
