the business development director is responsible for creating and closing sales opportunities, generating new regional and global business for tmf, and expanding market share.
the role develops and maintains a network of prospects and converts these into clients, while also supporting upselling and cross‑selling within an existing client portfolio. It also includes developing and maintaining a network of intermediaries within the assigned region.
the commercial focus is to generate new business across tmf group’s service portfolio, including hr & payroll, global entity management, accounting & tax, and trust and corporate services.
key responsibilities
* develop the business by building a new business pipeline, alongside upselling and cross‑selling to existing clients
* identify and optimise sales opportunities using knowledge of the market, competitors, and tmf’s value propositions and differentiators
* where applicable, oversee account planning for designated clients, developing strategic relationships and building pipelines to support business growth
* develop and maintain a network of prospects to support a consistent and sustainable sales pipeline
* leverage professional networks to maximise opportunities for cross‑referrals, including intermediaries
* manage the end‑to‑end sales process from initial contact through to contract execution in an efficient and transparent manner
* develop proposals that address client needs, concerns, and business objectives
* work collaboratively as part of a deal team to support a high-quality client experience and response, including coordination across sales teams (markets and regions)
* engage internal stakeholders to maximise overall deal value
* participate in large opportunities from initiation to closure and contribute to development plans for key client accounts
* coordinate and present multi‑jurisdictional sales proposals to international clients
* support cross‑selling opportunities as clients expand into additional jurisdictions
* meet monthly, quarterly, and annual qualified pipeline generation targets
* meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets aligned with organisational objectives
* contribute to the development of the sales team, supporting productivity, effectiveness, and improved conversion outcomes
* collaborate with leadership to implement best practices and refine sales processes based on market insights and analysis
* adopt and maintain tmf sales processes and systems (e.g. Crm, forecasting tools, proposal tools, and dashboards) as part of daily responsibilities
key requirements
* bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, sales, marketing, or a related field
* relevant experience in a commercial environment or within consulting, accounting, or legal services
* strong written and verbal communication skills in english
* ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries at all levels
* an established professional network within the industry is beneficial
* ability to apply a consultative (“solutio n‑selling”) approach, focusing on understanding client needs
* ability to coordinate complex, multi‑jurisdictional proposals across multiple service lines
* self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
* strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
* results‑oriented, with the ability to manage priorities and workload effectively
* experience in direct sales, pre‑sales, and/or enablement within an enterprise software and/or saas environment is beneficial
* willingness to travel as required
* strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* proficiency in microsoft office
* experience with crm systems such as microsoft dynamics or salesforce is an advantage
