responsibilities
* develop activities such as cycle time reduction, worker effort reduction, inventory reduction, and floor improvements to improve working conditions and reduce waste.
* follow up on activities such as cycle time reduction, worker effort reduction, inventory reduction, and floor improvements using the 7 waste reduction forms.
* analyze processes to determine adequate working conditions related to space, layouts, lighting, breaks, manpower, tools, and equipment.
* support time studies and related measurements (slip weight, glaze weight, fired weight, pack weight) updated in both plants to determine product cost.
* support activities during kos events and assist teams in applying the methodology.
* maintain standard work studies updated with no more than 1 year old.
* maintain the layered process audit updated and standardized.
* follow up to achieve kos savings goals and report monthly savings; create new lists for each year.
* provide support to all plant areas on structural fabrication to improve productivity, safety, and quality (kaizen team).
* comply with the health and safety roles and responsibilities established for this position.

* reports to the project specialist (cic).

* medium contact with process engineers and general supervisors.
* frequent contact with quality, accounting, and materials teams.

education
preference: bachelor degree in engineering.
experience
preference: five years of related experience.
formation
preference: must have the ability to understand sap and vis systems, standard cost and bom structure. Bilingual (english & spanish) is required. Lean tools knowledge.
