*your job*as a regional category manager in guadalajara, you will lead direct procurement activities for molex industrial solutions, supporting guadalajara manufacturing operations.you'll shape and execute sourcing strategies that strengthen supply continuity, improve total cost of ownership, and deepen supplier partnerships-while actively promoting principle based management (pbm) and value creation across the business.
*our team*you will be part of the supply chain / procurement organization, partnering closely with category management, npd sourcing, engineering, product management, quality, and operations.this role connects the supplier base with internal stakeholders to drive performance, competitiveness, and operational excellence.
*what you will do*- drive sourcing and procurement strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply resilience across the guadalajara direct material portfolio.
- lead commercial outcomes with suppliers through fact-based negotiations that strengthen pricing, payment terms, and long-term agreements.
- partner with cross-functional teams to support the full product lifecycle-from new product development through mass production and end-of-life-ensuring the supply base is ready to execute.
- strengthen supplier performance by enabling effective supplier relationship management and supporting supplier quality engagement aligned to plant needs.
- build and execute cost improvement roadmaps that reduce waste and improve competitiveness using economic thinking and total cost of ownership (tco) analysis.
- serve as a key liaison between suppliers and internal teams, improving communication, speed, and decision quality across the value chain.
*who you are (basic qualifications)*- bachelor's degree in a related field.
- strong proven experience managing supplier negotiations and commercial agreements (e.g., pricing, payment terms, contracts).
- strong proven experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., engineering, quality, operations, product/program teams).
- ability to work effectively in a global, multi-site environment with suppliers and internal teams.
- sap experience or similar mro/erp/mrp system.global procurement experience across the full product lifecycle (npd mass production- end-of-life).
- strong capability in tco analysis, financial cost modeling, and supplier/product/category analytics.
- demonstrated strength in contract management, supplier relationship management, and stakeholder influence.
- project management experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and measurable business outcomes.
- fluent in english (spoken and written).
