logistics lead

the logistics lead is disciplinary leader of materials planning, order fulfillment, production planning, procurement and warehouse management teams in assigned gentherm manufacturing facility. The logistics manager partners with supply chain functional managers to enforce standards.

this role, will provide feedback on best practices to functional managers.

minimum qualifications:

- university degree or may substitute with technical degree + 10 yrs experience in supply chain supervisory roles
- minimum 10 years' experience in planning, production, materials or logistics supervision
- broad knowledge and experience in the erp, mrp, mps systems. Erp system expert
- must have prior automotive/manufacturing experience (tier 1, 2)
- inventories and management.
- ms office proficient.
- materials planning
- knowledge on internal iatf 16949, iso 14001 & iso 45001 procedures.
- strong organizational skills, ability to work well under pressure and changing priorities.
- strong verbal and written communication skills.
- effective team player dealing with subordinates and matrix relationships.

other preferred qualifications

- apics or equivalent professional certification desirable
- lean manufacturing – lean toolset familiar required, lean certified is preferred

language skills:

- bilingual - effective communication in english and spanish.

key responsibilities

materials planning management

- assure planning, order fulfillment, production planning and procurement planning teams execute respective processes efficiently and accurately.
- drive improvement of related measurables through continuous improvement projects and effective corrective actions.
- escalate exceptions to plant management, corporate leadership and customers as needed.
- leads management of inventory levels, on time receipt of raw materials, warehousing and distribution of raw materials, warehousing of finished goods and on-time delivery of customer orders.
- monitor related measurables and drive improvement activities.
- coordinates monthly siop to ensure new products are launched in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- responsible for creation of attainable master production schedule with input from sales forecast, program management, customer demand, manufacturing capacity andsupply availability.

warehouse management

- assure warehouse operations are conducted in lean cost-effective manner.
- be the champion of continuous improvement efforts in warehouse operations.
- participate in development of departmental plans, budgets.

management

- provides strategy direction of supply chain department.
- provides project leadership and coaches direct reports in developing improvement projects.
- establishes inventory objectives and assumes responsibility for inventory turns.
- reviews, identifies, and minimizes obsolete inventory.
- recommends disposition of obsolescence within established guidelines.
- - mentor and coach the supply chain team in respective plants.
- participate in continuous improvement activities and cost reduction programs such as sopp.
- performs other duties as necessary/assigned.

system management - csr

- take part and comply with the requirements of the quality management system iatf 16949, environmental. Management system – iso 14001 and occupational health, safety management system - iso 45001 and tisax (trusted information security assessment exchange), corresponding to the position. Prepare evidence of compliance and support audits.
- ensure that you and the personnel under your charge (when applicable) are trained according to their position in everything related to the management system: quality - iatf 16949, environmental - iso 14001, occupational health and safety - iso 45001 and tisax, making a timely detection of training needs.
- responsible for understanding and compliance with information security policies.

focus on processes

systematically manages the processes in which it influences and its interactions for the achievement of objectives, favoring the understanding, definition and management of its processes with focus on pdca and prevention.

- planning and analysis of risks

promotes teamwork and their functions; risk-based thinking to ensure their identification, analysis of causes and consequences, assessment of risk level and treatment; documenting the above as evidence for its control. Applicable to management system quality - iatf 16949, environmental – iso 14001, occupational health and safety - iso 45001 and tisax.

life cycle perspective

- ensure the identification of environmental aspects in his areas of responsibility, going from inputs to outputs of the processes.

change management perspective

- ensure the management change in terms of iso 45001 in your area of responsibility.
- seek the application of preventive and corrective actions with respect to situations that may cause a significant impact on health and / or safety in the environment.
- responsible for understanding and compliance with the specific requirements established by customers with the zero defects in sight.
- review with csr team and multidisciplinary team, csr client and matrix manuals, every time you have a new customer and/or a new revision of the manuals.
- ensure incident investigation and environmental action plans are followed.
- create and promote a safe work environment by participating in risk assessment and change management in your area of responsibility.
- ensure the management of change in you area of responsibility.

qualifications

- bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or business
- strong analytical and organizational skills
- basic understanding of business processes (production planning, supply chain, quality, program management)
- proficiency in english and spanish (bilingual preferred)
- eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment

preferred skills

- exposure to sap s/4hana or sap fiori
- familiarity with excel, sql, or data visualization tools
- sap certification or coursework is a plus
