Responsibilities
* lead a production technical group, supervising their assigned activities, motivating and developing their skills.
* coordinate with master scheduler and other areas to give job status.
* solve and handle day-to-day operational issues, proposing improvements to workflow to enhance performance while maintaining quality and safety standards in the shop.
* supervise assigned repair shop technicians performing tests and repairs on aviation units per faa requirements and component maintenance manual (cmm) requirements.
* ensure that schedule set by the master scheduler is executed.
* handle issues, communicate and coordinate solutions.
* manage technician's time, training, attendance and labor utilization.
* train and motivate employees in their work standards.
* supervise daily working of department operating process, increasing the efficiency of workers.
* recommend methods to improve production efficiencies.
* work to improve and develop processes to reduce cycle time.
* lead and implement approved continuous improvement ideas identified by employees.
* comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
* proactively follow safran hse standards and procedures within daily work, staying alert to potential safety hazards when learning or implementing new skills or equipment.
* ensure that work order information in the erp is correct and up to date.
* ensure quality and promote efficient operations of the line.
* adhere to all quality standards with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
* ensure that all repair supplies (equipment, benches) are on hand for what is scheduled.
* ensure the materials needed for repair are within standard guidelines and procedures and ensure compliance with those procedures.
required competencies
* education: bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
* experience: minimum 18 months of aviation experience for faa requirements.
* leadership: 2-5 years of personal management and good interpersonal skills required.
* certifications: knowledge of lean.
* languages: english (mandatory).
* job knowledge: digital and analog electronic skills, mechanical and electromechanical skills.
* knowledge of production and repair tools and benches - instrumentation and measuring skills.
* knowledge of faa regulations and understanding of quality requirements.
* ensure planning execution.
* compliance with safety rules (ppe – personal protective equipment).
* 5s, lean and continuous improvement (kaizen).
