siop (sales, inventory, and operations planning) lead

impact and opportunity

as the siop (sales, inventory, and operations planning) lead, you will play a critical role in aligning sales forecasts, inventory projections, end-of-production programs, engineering change coordination, and operations capacity planning with a minimum six-month outlook. You will lead the siop process for the plant, consolidating and analyzing inputs from sales, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, alignment, and agility.

this role is key in driving proactive capacity planning, inventory optimization, and backlog reduction to meet customer demand while supporting cost efficiency and operational excellence. You will facilitate weekly and monthly siop meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on business priorities, risks, and opportunities.

essential functions and responsibilities

general management

* provide strategic direction to the siop process.
* control and achieve inventory objectives (value and turns).
* support excess/obsolescence mitigation and claims processes through root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
* drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives in logistics and freight.

preproduction and new programs

* actively participate in new program launches to monitor capacity, sop and eop milestones, ensuring alignment with program management and customer expectations.

sales forecasting

* collaborate closely with customers, sales, program management, and customer service teams to obtain the most accurate data regarding sop/eop dates, run rates, and production planning.
* ensure monthly rolling forecasts reflect accurate and updated information to enable agile decision-making.

support to master scheduling

* work closely with the master scheduling team to align production planning with sales forecasting.
* ensure monthly planning cycles are completed and linked to the mrp build plan and six-month operational siop.
* coordinate monthly siop meetings by value stream, prepare meeting minutes, and publish executive summaries with status, decisions, and action plans.

system management / compliance

* comply with iatf 16949, iso 14001, iso 45001, and legal requirements applicable to the role.
* support internal and external audits and ensure communication of management system effectiveness.
* ensure team members are trained on quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems.
* review and update csr client manuals when new customers or revisions are introduced.
* apply risk-based thinking to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks.
* exercise authority to stop production when product quality, safety, or environmental compliance is at risk.

minimum qualifications

* bachelor's degree required.
* bilingual – fluent in english and spanish.
* minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain leadership.
* experience in the automotive industry.
* proficiency with microsoft office suite and sap (or similar erp system).

preferred qualifications

* lean manufacturing experience; lean certification preferred.
* apics or equivalent professional certification preferred.
* strong data analytics and problem-solving skills.
* proven track record driving operational improvements.
