job purpose
the university of scranton’s department of health and human performance has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach a variety of courses each semester in the field of speech-language pathology ( slp ). Adjunct faculty may instruct one or more courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. A particular need in slp is for the medically based speech pathology courses (e.g., tracheostomized and ventilator dependency and head and neck cancer) provided in a synchronous distance education environment.
adjunct faculty are expected to teach a specified course(s); prepare course materials; provide support and guidance to students; and report grades.
additional skills required
certifications in a field relevant to the course, if applicable.
master’s degree in speech-language pathology
preferred education
preference will be given to ph.d. or ed.d. candidates
minimum job experience requirements
preferred qualifications
preference will be given to candidates with previous college-level teaching experience and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling. For slp courses, candidates with previous college-level distance learning teaching experience preferred.
