we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a

role purpose:
investigative reporting is one of four investigative teams within financial crime investigations (fci). It handles high-volume investigations, including transaction monitoring cases, true match cases from name screening alerts, referrals from fraud operations, and cases from financial crime – unusual activity reporting (fc-uars), production/court orders, and other referrals where fci triage has deemed referral appropriate. This includes dynamic risk assessment (dra) cases and classic transaction monitoring cases.
the team prepares investigative reports or summaries, files suspicious activity reports (sars) when necessary, and shares findings with relevant risk owners or stewards. They also handle cross-border referrals to other investigative reporting teams, with final decisions made by designated team members or points of contact in-market.
key responsibilities:
1. conduct effective and timely investigations into assigned cases, including transaction monitoring, fc-uars, screening list matches, cross-border referrals, and escalated fraud cases, adhering to reporting standards and slas.
2. identify and gather necessary information and documentary evidence to support case decisions, maintaining records in the case management system.
3. work independently to complete tasks, producing high-quality investigation reports or summaries within established slas.
4. conclude investigations with appropriate recommendations, such as referrals to mlro or other investigative teams, and determine if sars should be filed.
5. seek advice from subject matter experts (e.g., sanctions, tax transparency) when needed.
6. identify and complete referrals for actions like exit strategies or kyc/cdd refreshes.
7. continuously develop investigative skills and best practices.
