Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Tooling Design Supervisor. 
**What you’ll do:** 
**Primary Function:** 
Tooling Design Lead for the Tijuana Aerospace Site leads the tooling engineering team and establishes standards for, and manages activities pertaining to, the design, fabrication, inspection, and control of production fixtures and specialized tooling. 
Accountable in Production’s metrics & goal achievement, comply with all applicable Safety, Quality, Health & Environmental and Human Resources policies and procedures. 
This function may include, but are not limited to cost improvement activities, process development, new business development, creation and deployment of division wide manufacturing strategies and new initiatives. 
This position will also monitor project portfolio performance within the business units or functional areas. 
The position drives continuous improvement while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). 
**Essential Functions:** 
• Develop processes and strategies for the engineering design team. 
• Provide technical guidance and mentor engineers and other team members to enhance their skills. 
• Supervise the design and development of custom tools, jigs, fixtures, and other equipment for manufacturing, welding, machining, forming, inspection and assembly operations. 
• Coordinate projects, manage deliverables, schedules, and costs. 
• Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback on team output. 
• Manage entire tool design projects from order receipt to the first production run. 
• Oversee the fabrication and testing of tools and fixtures to ensure that tools are designed to meet high-quality standards, dimensional accuracy, safety regulations industry standards.

• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and value analyses to optimize tool development. 
• Manage the documentation of designs and modifications. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality control, to identify tooling needs and resolve design problems. 
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide clear engineering information to project leaders. 
• Participate in processes like APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) to ensure tooling delivers correctly and on time. 
• Conduct research to stay current with industry trends and advancements. 
• Modify and update existing tool designs to improve performance, tool life, and cost-effectiveness. 
• Participate in post-production analysis to implement lessons learned for future designs. 
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings. 
**Qualifications:** 
**Basic qualifications:** 
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. 
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, especially within a manufacturing environment. 
• Proven experience leading design projects from initial concept through to successful completion. 
• Advanced skills in 3D modeling and simulation software such as Catia (desirable), SolidWorks or AutoCAD. 
• Practical knowledge and application of GD&T; principles in engineering and manufacturing. 
• A strong understanding of materials, machining, forming and joining processes and manufacturing techniques. 
• Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing techniques. 
• Skills in managing project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively. 
• Bilingual in English/Spanish 
**Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position):** 
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other computational design tools for simulation and optimization. 
• Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification. 
• Experienced in automation process.
